Privacy Policy — FreeBike GPS

1. Introduction

FreeBike GPS is a bicycle navigation application built around a privacy-first principle: all navigation, route calculation, and address search happen entirely on your device. FreeBike GPS does not collect, store, or process your personal data, your searches, or your location on any server.

2. Data We Do NOT Collect

No account or registration is required
No user tracking or analytics are used
No advertising identifiers are used
No third-party crash reporting services are integrated
Your searches, planned routes, and location are never sent to us
Route tracking, navigation, route calculation, and address search are all processed on-device

Address search runs against a database stored on your device, and route calculation is performed on-device by BRouter. Neither sends your queries, start point, destination, or location to any server. Location information leaves your device only for optional online features that inherently require it, such as weather forecasts and online map tiles.

3. Data Stored Locally On Your Device

All data is stored exclusively on your device and is not shared with us or any third parties.

You may delete all locally stored data at any time by uninstalling the application or clearing its storage in Android settings.

4. Our File-Hosting Server

FreeBike GPS operates a single server (cdn.freebikegps.com) whose only role is to host the data files needed for on-device navigation - routing segments, routing profiles, and the offline map and address databases. Your device downloads these files once, when you set up the app or add a country.

This server:

Receives only file-download requests (for example, a request for a country’s data package).
Never receives your search queries, your planned routes, your destination, or your live location.
May see your IP address as a normal part of delivering a file, as any web server does during a download. This technical information is not used to identify you or build any profile.

No routing server ever receives your start point, destination, or planned route, because routing is performed entirely on your device by BRouter.

5. Third-Party Services

For optional online features, the app communicates with the following services. Only the minimum technical information needed for the feature is transmitted. No personal data is intentionally collected or stored by FreeBike GPS.

Third-party services may receive technical information such as IP addresses as part of standard internet communication. This information is processed by these providers under their respective privacy policies.

6. Android Permissions

FreeBike GPS is subject to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The application does not collect, store, or process personal data on its own systems. Your searches, routes, profile, and location remain on your device and are never transmitted to us.

The only server we operate hosts downloadable data files and, like any web server, may momentarily process your IP address in order to deliver a requested file. This is limited to standard technical connection data and is not used to identify you, track you, or build any profile.

Because we hold no personal data about you, there is generally no personal data available to access, correct, export, or delete on request. If you have any questions regarding your rights under GDPR, you may contact us using the details below.

8. Children’s Privacy

FreeBike GPS does not knowingly collect any data from users, regardless of age.

9. Changes to This Policy

Any updates to this Privacy Policy will be published on this page with an updated revision date.
